Cover the Cost of Fertility Treatments with Insurance, Financing or Both
In honor of National Infertility Awareness Week, we wanted to take time to focus on how REACH can help you overcome the financial obstacles associated with fertility treatments so you can focus on what really matters – your family.
One in eight couples struggles with infertility, and the costs associated with infertility treatments can add up – and quickly. Often, many rounds of medication and procedures are required and multiple IVF cycles may prove necessary. And while insurance plans may cover treatment for many medically-recognized disorders and medically-necessary procedures and medications, many do not cover treatment for infertility services.
In fact, currently, there are only 15 states that require insurance plans to offer infertility insurance or to provide infertility coverage. Unfortunately, North Carolina has no state laws that require infertility coverage. And the terms of coverage for the states that do require infertility coverage vary greatly, so it’s important to know the specifics for your state and plan before seeking treatment as many plans that do offer coverage may have treatment prerequisites, age requirements, and lifetime maximums.
So before you begin your infertility treatments, we recommend you speak to a representative from your insurance company to discuss what your plan covers – and doesn’t. Some private plans do offer some coverage for infertility treatments while other don’t. It’s best to know what will be covered so you’re not surprised by a big bill.
At REACH, we make every effort to help you realize your dreams of a family, whether through your insurance, our financing options – or both.
REACH participates with most major insurance plans and will work to verify your benefits prior to your first visit. We accept:
- Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- PHCS (Private Health Care Systems)
- United Healthcare
Please contact us if your plan isn’t listed.
REACH is also proud to offer several financing options for patients undergoing fertility treatments. They are:
- CapexMD Financing: CapexMD specializes in providing patient financing services for all fertility treatment options.
- Lending Club Financing: One of the nation's top providers of elective treatment financing, Lending Club provides low monthly payments to finance your fertility care.
- HCS Financing: HCS offers patient healthcare finance options that are easy to use and affordable for both patients and practitioners.
Understandably, the cost of any medical treatment is a concern for most people. REACH is proud to offer several options to help our patients focus on family, not finances. All of our financial options can be used in conjunction with your insurance benefits, and our expert financial counselors can recommend the financial options that best suit your needs and budget.
